The estrogens used in this formula are defined as bio-identical. They are plant-based and produced from diosgenin, an extract of the wild yam. The diosgenin must undergo a 3-step chemical process done in a lab to produce the estrogen. Studies show that eating the wild yam is not effective for HRT.

What is the difference between topical estrogen and oral estrogen?

Topical estradiol is quickly absorbed into the body and capable of increasing estrogen levels within minutes, reaching the peak delivery in half an hour.1 Relief from topical estradiol may begin 1-2 weeks after continued use. Full benefits may take 3-4 weeks.

Oral estrogen circulates throughout the entire body and may not be suitable for women with certain medical histories.

What does estrogen do?

Estrogen's primary role in women is to regulate the reproductive system. It's also responsible for female secondary sexual characteristics that differentiate females from males.

What causes low estrogen?

Estrogen naturally decreases in women as she approaches menopause. Before menopause, estrogen ranges from 15 to 350 picograms per milliliter (pg/mL). In post-menopausal women, estrogen falls below 30 pg/mL. Estrogen can also decline in women of any age. Childbirth, stress and illness and age are also among the causes.
