Ask About Compounded "Vyleesi" For Men And Women

Find out PT-141, also known as bremelanotide, helps restore women's sexual satisfaction and shows promise as a treatment for Erectile Dysfunction.*

PT-141 is the active ingredient in Vyleesi, the FDA-approved drug to treat Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) in women, but the peptide's affect was originally discovered in men. While researching a drug to darken skin, researchers noticed that men got spontaneous erections.

How Does PT-141/Vyleesi Work?

It is not known exactly how PT-141 can cause erections in men and increase women's libido and sexual satisfaction but it appears that it gets your brain in the game by acting on neurotransmitters that impact libido and sexual function.

In clinical trials, women who used bremelanotide reported their sexual enjoyment more than doubled! Some clinical studies showed that PT-141 treated ED in men and significantly improved erections in men without ED.*

PT-141 is not a PDE5 inhibitor like Viagra (Sildenafil) and Cialis (Tadalafil) and shows promise for men and women who have not had success with those treatments.

An article published in The Journal Nature on the effect of PT-141 on men with ED and men without ED, showed the effects of PT-141 were "clinically significant". Both groups achieved erections when using the PT-141 intranasally.

Depending on physician recommendation, vial may contain up to 20 doses.

What Is PT-141?

PT-141 is a peptide drug that affects neurotransmitters in the brain called melanocortins. It is an agonist at melanocortin receptors. This means it activates the receptors, causing a response. Melanocortin receptors control sexual function, impact appetite, and immunity, among other physiologic actions.

PT-141 offers promise treating sexual dysfunction in men and women who do not have success with the PDE5 inhibitors Viagra (sildenafil) and Cialis (tadalafil) or can't take sildenafil or tadalafil for health reasons.

What Is the Difference Between PT-141 and Cialis and Viagra?

PT-141 works in the brain, while Cialis (tadalafil) and Viagra (sildenafil) increase blood flow to the penis.

How Do PDE5 Inhibitors Work?

Inhibiting, or blocking, the enzyme phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5), slows the breakdown of the molecule cGMP. With cGMP still active, the smooth muscles in the penis relax or stay relaxed longer. When the muscles relax, blood vessels open to increase blood flow. This is called vasodilation.

Studies show PDE5 inhibitors may have the same effect in premenopausal 2 and postmenopausal women.3 They increase blood flow to the vagina and clitoris, which boosts libido, increases vaginal lubrication and improves sexual satisfaction. 2,3

Having these medications that function differently expands sexual dysfunction treatment opportunities for men and women.

What Are FSA and HSA Accounts?

FSA's and HSA's are federal programs that make it easy for you to enjoy significant tax benefits for qualified out-of-pocket medical expenses. Each program works a little differently but with each you avoid federal, state and local income taxes on any funds that you use for qualified medical expenses.

FSA tax benefits are administered by your job. Funds in an amount that you decide —within the program limits—are withdrawn from your paycheck without any payroll tax deductions.

Tax benefits with an HSA may be administered that way but there are also other options.

How Do I Use My FSA/HSA Funds?

You can use a pre-loaded debit card or get reimbursed from your FSA or HSA account after you make your purchase or a combination of both methods.
